About the Founder
After immigrating to Canada in the 1970’s Domenic Grillo founded Bramalea Tile in 1977. At the time the Company consisted of Domenic and one labourer who focused mainly on residential jobs that came via word of mouth. Domenics ability to exceed customer’s expectations with his quality European workmanship kept him in high demand.
In many European families the eldest son follows their Fathers footsteps into the family business and as such Domenic’s son Patrick started to learn the trade while still in his early teens during his summer breaks from school. Patrick continued to work summers while finishing his post secondary education and eventually joined the company full time.
The focus continued to be Custom work until the early 1990’s when Patrick took over the day to day running of the company and eventually became President when Domenic retired in 2003. Under Patrick’s leadership Bramalea Tile switched its focus from Custom work to New Housing developments and has since grown into one of the top supply and installation companies in the GTA low-rise industry.
President’s Profile
Even though he is President of a busy company, Patrick Grillo is a great believer that in order to achieve great success you must be able to balance your personal and professional life successfully. An avid outdoorsman, Patrick has taken countless hiking and canoeing trips to remote areas of Northern Ontario and Quebec. He and a friend competed in the Yukon River Quest, which is the longest kayak race in the world from Whitehorse to Dawson City, Yukon (750 km). They completed the race, which is recognized as one of the toughest adventure marathon events in the world. He has also trekked across the Himalayas and spent a month summiting Mt. Pumori (next to Everest). When not on an adventure he enjoys spending time with his wife and two children and loves cooking for family & friends.
